Field Notes isn’t here to coddle you with clichés or spoon-feed you “feel good” advice. This is where we dig into the real work—the uncomfortable truths, the re”lentless pursuit of growth, and the stuff no one wants to say out loud.

“Life isn’t tidy, and neither is real development.”

If you're looking for another guide on "five easy steps to success," you've come to the wrong place. Here, we’re more interested in what actually moves the needle—personally, professionally, unapologetically.

This is about building something that lasts, inside and out. It’s about asking the hard questions, and finding the grit to push through the mess. Because growth is raw, it’s real, and it’s damn well earned. So, if you’re here to dig deeper, if you’re ready to actually do the work that matters—welcome to Field Notes.

To be bluntly honest, we got sick of seeing the same tired ideas, dressed up and paraded around as “new” insights. It’s all noise, the same recycled lines over and over, just spat out in brighter packaging. Growth isn’t about rehashing the old; it’s about doing something real, learning from it, and then doing the next thing—better.

Field Notes isn’t here for the fluff. It’s for the action-takers, the doers, the ones who are ready to ditch the repetition and dig into what actually drives change. So if you’re up for it, roll up your sleeves.

This isn’t about checking boxes; it’s about breaking boundaries.

Apogee was founded by Ollie and Anj — two L&D professionals driven by a shared vision of taking learning and development to new, uncharted territory. Both based in the Lake District, our backgrounds stretch from event coordination, culinary arts, and operations management to hands-on experience in project management, facilitation, and leadership development. The rugged landscapes here have shaped our approach, but we’re not here to stick to one path — Organising and hosting events all over the world.

Our work isn’t just about creating offsites; it's about stripping back the fluff and honing in on what really matters. We believe in honest, no-nonsense growth: the kind that’s uncomfortable but necessary, and the kind that doesn’t settle for stale ideas wrapped in new packaging. Our combined network of coaches, facilitators, and venues across the globe allows us to design retreats that are challenging, rewarding, and, above all, real.

So here’s the deal: if you’re looking to put ticks-in-boxes, we’re not for you. But if you want bold, uncompromising development and a team that values integrity, depth, and connection, then let’s make it happen.
